Assemblymember Cooper’s Worker-Protection Bill Signed into Law

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assembly Bill 1033, authored by Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove), was signed today by Governor Gavin Newsom. The bill will ensure that individuals who are offered employment by a state agency are provided an explanation of the salary, benefits, and protections that accompany state service.

Assemblymember Cooper’s Pay Equity Evaluation Bill Sent to Governor

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assembly Bill 271, authored by Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove), was approved on a unanimous bi-partisan vote by the California State Senate. The bill will help close the gender and ethnicity pay gap as well as address the underrepresentation of women and minorities in state civil service classifications.

California Enacts Nation Leading Youth Football Safety Standards into Law

SACRAMENTO, CA – Assembly Bill 1, authored by Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove), was signed into law yesterday by Governor Gavin Newsom. Assembly Bill 1, also known as the California Youth Football Act will enact safety standards for youth football, limiting full-contact practices to reduce brain injuries.

Galt’s Walker Park to Receive $1.7 Million for Renovations
