(Sacramento) - Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk  Grove) welcomed high school students to the State Capitol as part of the  Young Assemblymembers Program (YAP). Over the course of several weeks,  students in YAP learned about the Legislature and participated in  workshops on leadership, communication and problem solving. “They want  to be leaders,” Assemblymember Cooper said. “That’s the part I love  about it.
