Butane Regulation Would Help Dismantle Honey Oil Labs

Tuesday, April 4, 2017

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove) brought his Assembly Bill 1120 to the Public Safety Committee to present his butane regulation measure that would result in law enforcement finding and dismantling the honey oil labs that have injured families, children and first responders.  Honey oil is a THC laden product created by extracting oils out of marijuana. Butane, an odorless and colorless liquid, is used to do this. Butane often leaks and builds up as a gas in confined spaces like a home or apartment. When this gas is exposed to an open flame or electrical spark it causes a violent explosion. Many innocent people have been harmed or killed by these explosions. Watch this Assembly Access video to hear how Assemblymember Cooper’s legislation will help law enforcement find and shut down these illegal butane honey oil labs.
