(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove) joined the rest of the Assembly Democrats in marking the 43rd anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court’s landmark Roe v Wade decision by passing House Resolution 32. The measure urges the President and Congress to support a woman's fundamental right to control her own reproductive decisions, and to support access to comprehensive reproductive health care, including care provided by Planned Parenthood. “Before the Supreme Court’s landmark decision women had no choice but to pursue illegal abortions,” said Assemblymember Cooper. “One of these women was my Grandmother.” Here’s more in this Assembly Access video.
