Walking to Raise Awareness About Sexual Assault

Friday, April 22, 2016

(Sacramento) – Assemblymember Jim Cooper (D-Elk Grove) is joining millions of others around the world by kicking off his shoes and donning a pair of high heels to join the Women Escaping a Violent Environment (WEAVE) Walk a Mile in Her Shoes campaign. The annual event has raised more than a million dollars since its inception in 2011.  It’s all part of an effort to raise awareness about sexual assault. Assemblymember Cooper honored WEAVE and its Walk a Mile campaign with House Resolution 47. Watch him present HR 47 to the State Assembly in this Assembly Access video.
